How to batch-prepare photos for laser engraving with one recipe

1. Approve one image and save it as a recipe

Pick the photo that is most typical for the series and prepare it in the Photo Studio until it is right for the material: surface, image type, goal, tone and dot structure. Save everything as a recipe. A recipe stores all of it, so the other images get exactly the decisions you made here.

2. Run the recipe across the order

Load the whole order into Batch and select the recipe. Every image is prepared with the same engine and the same settings as the single image, so tones, dot pattern and material handling stay identical across the series. When it is done, download the files as one ZIP.

What you set in Batch

Batch shows the same decisions as the Photo Studio, in one panel for the whole order. Pick a saved recipe, or set the surface, image type and goal directly; choose the export target; and fine-tune the engrave controls — brightness, contrast, local contrast, sharpness and edges, dot density and dot size. Each image in the list shows its own status, so you can see which ones are done and which are still waiting.

3. Check the outliers before engraving

A recipe cannot fix a bad photo. Look through the results for the usual suspects: very dark or backlit photos, low-resolution images and busy backgrounds. Those are the ones to adjust by hand or to ask the customer about. Almost-white backgrounds are handled — white stays unengraved — but a busy background still needs a cut-out.

4. When orders never stop: automate it

If the series is really a steady stream of orders, the same recipe can run without anybody opening the images: the prepare API applies it on request and reports back with a webhook.

Can I prepare hundreds of photos for laser engraving at once?

Yes. Save the settings of one approved image as a recipe and run it across the whole order in Vextrify Batch; the results come back as a ZIP with the same look on every image.

Will every photo look the same?

They get the same settings, so tones and dot pattern match. Photos that start very dark, blurry or with a busy background still need a look before engraving.

Can batch preparation run automatically?

Yes, through Vextrify's API (POST /v1/prepare), which applies the same engine and recipes and reports finished or failed jobs by webhook.
