Preparation in the browser, running on the desktop

Photo preparation needs no install: Photo Studio runs on the device, and so do the on-device modes of the background remover. Laser Control exists only in the desktop app, for macOS on Apple Silicon and for Windows. A free account is needed to load and process images.

One tab per laser

The desktop app drives GRBL diode lasers and Ruida CO2 lasers. Each laser gets its own tab, with its own profile, calibration and job, and one laser is actively connected at a time. It does not drive fiber or galvo lasers; for those it exports files for LightBurn or EZCAD. A calibrated camera places designs on the material, desktop only.

  • Own profile, calibration and job per tab

Repeatable results

Photo Studio saves a recipe, and Batch applies it to many photos and returns one ZIP. That keeps a run of similar orders consistent. Settings for the machine come from a material test grid on scrap, kept per laser and material.

  • Recipes keep results consistent
  • Batch: one recipe, one ZIP
  • Test grid per laser and material

Shop orders and privacy

For orders that arrive from a web shop, there is an API and webhooks for shop orders. Customer photos stay local for the on-device tools. Details on both are on their own pages.

Camera placement

A calibrated camera can place designs on the actual material, which saves test pieces when a workpiece has a fixed position. Camera placement is in the desktop app only. Calibration and alignment are kept per laser, in that laser tab, so changing laser means using its own calibration. A step-by-step guide covers the lens calibration and alignment.

  • Place designs on the real material
  • Desktop app only
  • Calibration is kept per laser

Common questions

Which lasers can the desktop app run?

GRBL diode lasers and Ruida CO2 lasers. It does not drive fiber or galvo lasers; for those it exports files for LightBurn or EZCAD.

Can I run several lasers at once?

Each laser gets its own tab with its own profile, calibration and job, but one laser is actively connected at a time.

Does Laser Control work in the browser?

No. Laser Control is only in the desktop app for macOS on Apple Silicon and for Windows.
