QR Code
Clean QR codes for engraving and layout.
Generate URL or text QR codes locally as SVG, with size and inversion control, ready to place on the artboard.
Available on macOS & Windows
What you get
- Local SVG QR generation
- Size and inversion control
- Direct artboard placement
Why QR Code instead of what you know?
QR codes are usually fetched from a website — often with tracking, sometimes with an expiry date.
The QR code is generated locally as SVG and belongs to you.
- Turn a URL or text into SVG locally, with no third-party service.
- Straight into the Artboard as a vector, and on into production.
- No tracking, no expiry, no detour through someone else's server.
Everything in QR Code
Every function, every effect — 8 controls.
Content
The text that gets encoded into the QR code.
- URL / Text
- Multi-line text field for the content to encode — e.g. a web address, a phone number, or any plain text. Every change recalculates the QR code immediately.
Size & quiet zone
Controls the physical size of the code and the blank margin around it.
- QR size mm
- Slider for the QR code's edge length in millimeters (10–160 mm). Directly determines the exported SVG size and the insert size in the Artboard.
- Quiet zone
- Slider for the width of the blank, code-free margin around the pattern, in modules (1–8). This margin is part of the QR standard — scanners need it to distinguish the code from its background.
Appearance
- Invert
- Toggle that swaps foreground and background color — black modules on white becomes a white pattern on black. Useful for materials where you mark light-on-dark instead of dark-on-light.
Preview
Large live view of the currently generated code.
- QR preview
- Shows the currently computed code at full size on a white (or, with Invert on, black) tile, with the configured edge length in mm shown underneath.
- Empty state
- Shown instead of the preview when the content is empty or too long for the local generator — the generator covers a limited data capacity, not arbitrarily long text.
Export & hand-off
- Download SVG
- Downloads the current QR code as a standalone SVG file. The file name is derived automatically from the content (sanitized, with "http(s)://" stripped, trimmed to a sensible length).
- Insert into artboard
- Inserts the current QR code as a movable object into the active Artboard project (centered, on the first matching engrave layer) and makes that project the active one. A status line confirms the hand-off or reports an error.
